Fishermen mark 2013 Tianheng Sea Ritual

The Tianheng Sea Ritual has been observed by fishermen in Tianheng Town of Jimo for over five centuries. The ritual takes place annually around Guyu, the sixth of the 24 solar terms, when fishermen prepare for the new fishing season. During the event, local fishermen would present offerings to the sea and pray for a prolific turnout in the upcoming fishing activities. [Photo/Xinhua]
