Qingdao, a coastal city in East China's Shangdong province, recently hosted a number of job fairs to attract talented job-seekers across the country, the Qingdao Evening News reported on Oct 8.
The recruitment campaign, organized by the city's human resources departments, has been conducted in cities of Dalian, Shenyang and Changchun in Northeast China, Wuhan in Central China and Xi'an in Northwest China.
Thirty-five local employers including Haier Group, Qingdao Technological University and the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, offered more than 700 positions in the fields of shipping, marine environment, mechanical engineering, finance and new material.
They received nearly 5,000 applications during the job fairs held at the top universities in Dalian, Changchun and Shenyang. Two thirds of the applicants hold a master or PhD degree.
According to the recruitment campaign organizers, Qingdao will continue to hold job fairs in Beijing and eastern and southeastern provinces to recruit more talented and skillful applicants later this year.
